Liane Lang's film is shot in Jersey, inspired by Surrealist photographers Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore who emigrated to Jersey from Paris in the 1930s. They distributed leaflets against the Nazis to soldiers on the island and were arrested and nearly deported. Much of their work was destroyed or exists only in very small format images.

Lang's film references their biographies and locations of their work, to create an eerily beautiful and strange journey to a dream version of the island. A hommage to forgotten women Surrealists, the film in its delicate, feminine setting is confined, almost trapped, a vision forever condemned to a small scale on which the lid may close at any moment.
